Poás volcano is a powerful symbol of the geothermal forces that formed Costa Rica. When the mist and clouds part you’ll see the sulfuric, bubbling, green rain fed lake at the bottom, surrounded by smoke and steam rising from fumaroles. Water from the lake is constantly seeping through cracks in the hot rock, evaporating and building pockets of steam. When the pressure in these pockets exceeds the weight of the water above, the steam breaks through in geysers that rocket up to 820 feet (250 meters) high. Don’t worry about getting a shower though, the crater is 1,050 feet (320 meters) deep. At almost a mile (1.6 km) across it’s also the largest active crater in the world. New safety features have been added to protect visitors in case of particularly heavy activity.

We will be able to walk through one of the 3 main craters, and after the tour we go to the highest point of the National Park which is also the second highest point in Costa Rica, then we descend the volcano to visit the most important church in Costa Rica, we know a little about the architecture and the different constructions that the structure has had. In addition, the church is famous for its pilgrimage and for the history of the Virgin of the Angels, and the facilities have a small museum and the holy water fountain.

I will take photos of you at all of my stops, and I will tell you the hawaiian mythology story's. I will bring fruit to sample from my farm, or stop at a fruit stand so you can buy fruit.

An incredible hike at Volcanoes National Park. We will start at the Kilauea Visitor Center and boasts magnificent views of the Kilauea Iki Crater. The approximately 8 mile loop takes you through a field of steams vents into a native Hawaiian forest. We will then enter the actual crater itself, and the hike concludes with the iconic Thurston Lava Tube, one of the park's most popular attractions.
