Itinerary

Day 1: Siem Reap Temple Tour

Stop At: Ta Prohm, National Road #6 Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap 17252 Cambodia
The Ta Prohm Temple is also known as the “Tomb Raider Temple” since it was used as a filming location for the Tomb Raider movie.

This beautiful temple was built in the late 12th century. It is especially interesting for the trees groing out of the ruins of the temple and the rich jungle surrounding.

Stop At: Banteay Srei, Siem Reap Cambodia
The banteay srei (“women’s castle”) is a 10th-century Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Located in the area of Angkor, it lies near the hill of Phnom Dei, 25 km (16 mi) north-east of the main group of temples that once belonged to the medieval capitals of Yasodharapura and Angkor Thom.

On our way to the temple, we will pass trough rice fields and farmers villages. You will get a first impression of the cambodian way of life.

Day 2: Angkor Wat and Angkor Tom

Stop At: Angkor Wat, Sangkat Nokor Thum, Siem Reap Cambodia
Angkor Wat is the most famous temple in the Angkor region and in cambodia. It was build in the 12th century and now stands within a number of historical sights and buildings. It now represents cambodia and its culture as it is shown on the cambodian flag and the 500 Riel bank note.

It will take around 3 to 3,5 hours to see the temple and its surroundings.

Stop At: Angkor Thum, Cambodia
Angkor Thom translates to “great city” and it used to be the capital of cambodia. Within the Angkor Thom area you will see:
– Baphuon, the great temple mountain
– Bayon, the temple of many faces
– The terrace of elephants
– The terrace of the lepracy-king
– and many more…

Day 3: Swimming Villages on the Tonle Sap Lake

Stop At: Tonle Sap Lake, Lower Mekong Basin Cambodia
On our way to the swimming villages on the Tonle Sap Lake, we will pass by a lotus farm where you will be able to try the lotus fruit.

During the dry season, the villages along the Tonle Sap river can be passed through by bus or car. However, during the rainy season, we will need to use a motor boat. As we drive towards Tonle Sap Lake, you will be able to see crocodiles and I will tell you more about life in the swimming villages.

At the end of the day, we will watch the sun set over Tonle Sap Lake.

Day 4: Phnom Kulen National Park

Stop At: Phnom Kulen National Park, Cambodia
The Phnom Kulen National Park is a gorgeous natural sight in cambodia. Kulen Mountain has a number of beautiful waterfalls as well as ancient ruins and a holy buddhist monastery with the lying buddha.
Visitors are allowed to swim in the pools of the waterfalls and have picknicks on the grounds.
