For those looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh. The center pieces of the tour are a visit to the working silk farm the island is named for and the unique Coconut School run by local volunteers and built from recycled material and what many think of as rubbish.

Departure times starts from 7:30 am onwards at a time suitable to yourselves from your guest house or hotel.

Return approximately four hours after departure time.

You will travel through the bustling streets of Phnom Penh and you will visit the majestic Kbal  Koh temple.

Then, you will enjoy a local delicacy from one of the many road side stalls along the way before we board the barge to cross the mighty Mekong River. Once you arrive on Silk Island you will enjoy viewing the traditional homes of the local village and farmers working the rich soils for their crops.

We will take a visit to the unique Coconut School which run and supported by locals and is made from recylced materials and what many consider rubbish. This school provides both a home and schooling for abandoned children and engish and maths for another 240 island children to supplement there public school education.

The tour culminates with a visit to the Silk Farm which the island is named for. Here you can see the full production cycle of silk and visit their shop to buy a variety of beautiful hand crafted silk products.

The tour includes: transport, guide, ferry crossing fee, silk farm entry, morning tea and chilled water.
