Itinerary

Day 1: Siem Reap to Battembang and Touring

Stop At: Siem Reap, Siem Reap, Siem Reap Province
Depart Siem Reap in the morning and head to the northwest of Cambodia. It takes 3-hour drives to Battambang through Cambodia’s prettiest landscapes and countryside views. Battambang is Cambodia’s second most populated city, situated on the banks of the Stung Sangke.

Stop At: Sisophon, Sisophon, Banteay Meanchey Province
En route, we stop at Sisophon for the rest room. Sisophon is the capital and largest city of Banteay Meanchey Province and the fourth most populous city in Cambodia. It is 95 km from Siem Reap and 50 km from the Thai border (Poipet). Agriculture is the traditional mainstay of the population economy. Banteay Meanchey is one of the top five rice producing provinces in Cambodia. After 30 minutes stop we continuous our trip to Battambang. Enjoy the beautiful landscape of rural country side villages with Palm trees, vegetable gardens, rice fields, animals and farming activities. We have some stops for photos and barbeque meats or seasoning fruit tasting along the way.

Stop At: Wat Ek Phnom, Battambang Cambodia
Ek Phnom is an angkorian temple located on the left side of the Sangkae River. It was built in the 11th century. It was surrounded by Natural Agricultural Villages. Drive through the beautiful landscape of rural countryside villages. Stop at a small rice-paper making village to learn about the local industry. Enjoy your photo opportunities.

Stop At: Phsar Nath Market, Central Market Area, Battambang, Battambang 02000 Cambodia
Riverside walk where you will see the most impressive colonial architecture in Cambodia. You will also visit the local market situated in the heart of the city. Phsar Nat Market on the west side of the Battembang River is where the local population head there early morning and late afternoon to shop for a wide array of fresh vegetables, seafood, meats, fruit, fresh water fish as well as household items. It’s the oldest Khmer market in Battembang and a must-visit for those looking to experience the local lifestyle. The open-air market is covered by a massive roof.

Day 2: Battembang Day Tour and Overland to Siem Reap

Stop At: Phnom Sampeau, 57 Off NH, Battambang 02000 Cambodia
Phom Sampov is a natural resort located South West of Battambang City. Phnom Sampeau is an impressive limestone outcrop housing the Killing Caves from the Khmer Rouge era. Inside the caves lies a golden reclining Buddha that is next to a memorial filled with the bones of those who were brutality murdered in the caves by the Khmer Rouge regime cadres. We continue on to the summit of Phnom Sampeau with its sweeping views of the countryside of the surrounding area.

Stop At: Prasat Banan in Battambang, 1 Street, Battambang 02000 Cambodia
Drive through the picturesque countryside to Phnom Banan where, after 358 steps, climb to the summit, you will visit an impressive 11th century five spire temples that many claim was the inspiration for Angkor Wat. Banan is the best preserved Khmer temple around Battambang.

Stop At: Prasat Phnom Banan Winery, 154, Kantoe, Cambodia
Visit a local winery famous for producing a local grape-based cognac, the only winery in Cambodia

Stop At: Bamboo Train Battambang, Krong Battambang, Cambodia
Take an exciting short ride on the famous bamboo train, a form of transport used by locals. This unique and unforgettable experience takes you on a thrilling ride through the countryside before you disassemble your train. If time permits, you will be offered to visit the Khmer ancient house.

Stop At: Piphetthearam Pagoda, Rd No 2, Krong Battambang, Cambodia
Heading to Siem Reap. On the way back, you will have some stops for photos, restroom, tasting seasoning fruit, BBQ meats and Bamboo sticky rice. Arrive Siem Reap late in the afternoon, and you will have some free time to explore Siem Reap and celebrate the end of a remarkable journey.
