Lunch with an English-Speaking Local

Siem Reap Trip Overview

Many people visit the temples and Pub Street but don’t get to interact closely with any local Khmer people while they’re in Siem Reap. I love to meet travelers and share information about our culture and what it’s like to live here. This is an opportunity to visit a local family in our home, ask questions, and connect closely with real Cambodian culture.

You’ll also have the option to visit the market and a local Children’s Home with me if you have time and interest.

Itinerary

You’ll have the option to visit a big local market with me to select the ingredients for your lunch and learn more about local ingredients. If you’d like, you can also help the family create a basket from natural materials or help prepare the food — or we can just relax and talk while lunch is being prepared. It’s up to you.

You’ll learn a lot about Khmer culture during a leisurely lunch with the local family, eating in a traditional style and chatting with your English-speaking host.

I donate a portion of all earnings to the Mother Theresa home that helped me when I was young. If you have time, we can visit the home and see how they are helping local children.
