What makes Private Day Tour to Angkor Wat Temples a unique experience ?

At around 08:00 a.m., your driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel and start your guided tour. The private air-conditioned vehicle will take you to the first destination – Angkor Wat, a famous UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the Four Wonders of the Orient. Passing by the elegant carvings, reliefs, sculptures, and buildings, you will get close to the 12th-century architectural art of Khmer.

* If you want to enjoy the sunrise view at Angkor Wat, feel free to contact your guide before travel. And it is recommended to have a nice dream the night before, as you will get much earlier for the beautiful scenery.

Situated centrally in the city, this 13th-century temple, your next stop, offers not only its exquisite carvings and reliefs but also a nice distant view of the tranquil Tonle Sap Lake. Seeing the story-telling reliefs, which depict the wars and lifestyle in the old times, you will learn about the vicissitudes of this city. And the over 50 stone Buddha faces, with peaceful smiles, seems like the unchangeable and placid witness to everything.

Then you will head to Baphuon Temple, a Hindu temple with a history of over 950 years. Its construction represents the Baphuon-style structures. This three-storey temple features intricate reliefs, which cover all surfaces that can be carved. On the back of the temple, there sit the ruins of a massive reclining Buddha sculpture, which was once 70 meters long and 9 meters high. Through the ruins, you can imagine the devout of the disciples.

Your next stop is another 12th-century heritage – the Terrace of Elephants. It is a large platform where the emperors used to hold royal ceremonies, parades, and elephant fights. You will have a glance at the ancient craftsmanship through the vivid elephant sculptures at the edges and some delicate reliefs.

The Terrace of the Leper King is a grand 7-meter-high platform made of laterite and sandstone. There are many delicate carvings of nagas, demons and other mythological figures on its exterior and interior wall, which are well worth your appreciation.

A visit to the hugely popular Ta Prohm Temple comes next. Also known as the “Jungle Temple”, Ta Prohm has many centuries-old trees growing through the ruins with roots going everywhere, adding atmosphere to the site.

Phnom Bakheng, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, was a state temple built on Bakheng Hill after the King Yasovarman I established the capital of Angkor in the 9th century. After this, your guide and driver will transfer you back to the hotel. Hope you have enjoyed this trip with us!
