Departure is from your hotel at 8:30 for the ride out from Siem Reap to the temples of Angkor. First stop is one of the most impressive monuments in the world, Angkor Wat, built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II. An architectural masterpiece, Angkor Wat took more than 30 years to build.

Then hop back in the jeep and move on to the next stop, and catch a glimpse of rural life along the way. The next highlight is Bayon, otherwise known as “the one with the faces” its 54 four-headed Buddha statues are one of the most impressive sights of the temple complex. Then explore the famous Terrace of the Leper King and the Terrace of the Elephants.

For lunch stop at a great little restaurant for some tasty local food. Then hop back in the jeep and depart for Ta Prom, one of the most beautiful temples of the complex. Sometimes called the Tomb Raider temple, Ta Prom has been reclaimed by the jungle leaving the trees intertwined with the stonework.
