Our cabin is located in Skyline, one of the best aurora viewing spots in Fairbanks, perched on a towering mountaintop far from the city lights. It faces a northern valley where the aurora frequently appears. Multiple outdoor viewing platforms provide ample space for guests to take photos, ensuring everyone enjoys a private, uninterrupted experience while marveling at the northern lights. Inside the cabin, the flames in the hearth dance joyfully, casting a warm glow on the wooden ceilings and walls, creating a cozy and serene atmosphere. With a cup of hot chocolate in hand, you can admire the graceful dance of the aurora through the large glass windows, feeling as though it’s within reach. For photographing the Northern Lights we highly suggest a DSLR camera with a lens that is capable of at least a f/2.8 18-35mm and a decent tripod for best pictures. The Northern Lights can be photographed with smartphones as well. But know that due to taking a time exposure, your best results will be with a DSLR camera. It can be cold (below zero), so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and have an extra camera battery. The cold temperatures can drain a battery quickly.

If the aurora are not visible, halfway through the evening the group will relocate to a secondary location, something that no other tour group provides (two locations in one night).
