This is the longest-running northern lights photo tour in the Anchorage area. We pick you up at your Anchorage accommodations and take you on a nocturnal adventure to witness the beauty of the Alaskan night sky. It's a great option for any travelers to Alaska during August to late April. This tour accommodates serious photographers to sightseers. We conduct a daily update that includes both the aurora borealis and weather forecast. The tour runs based on that forecast, but runs only if the forecast indicates a chance of seeing the aurora. Because both weather and the aurora borealis are natural phenomena, we cannot guarantee seeing the northern lights. Our team of local guides has a couple of locations where we operate this trip. Exactly where we hike will be determined by the hiking experience of those in our group. During winter season, we have a chance to see Denali on our tour, the highest peak of North America! No prior machine riding experience is needed. We give every driver of a machine a personal safety speech and spend time showing you how to operate your equipment safely. Our tours depart right from our office on Hatcher Pass. We have on-site parking for any sized vehicle. We are located down a county maintained dirt road that all rental car companies are ok using.

A taste of Palmer – we'll head to a glacial valley in scenic Hatcher Pass for a mellow 4-mile, out-and-back hike on a flat, well-maintained trail. Along the way, learn about how glaciers carved the Mint Valley and what prospectors found while panning in the early 20th century. We'll stop at an old beaver damn for snacks and a water break before heading back to the trailhead. Following our valley walk, we'll stop at a local brewery (non-alcoholic options available). Learn about the brewers, discover what's crafted using locally harvested ingredients, and sip on a beverage.
