As we leave Skagway, we'll climb over 3,500 feet in elevation up to the summit, where Gold Rushers had to hand-carry all their gear on their way into Canada – except you'll do it from a heated bus. Departures planned from Piano Provenzana with off-road vehicles along the panoramic path that leads up to the north side of Mt. Etna, through ancient craters and recent lava flows up to 2825 mt. Then we start the ascent (470mt positive level difference) on foot on a path surrounded by volcanic bombs and scoria, till we will reach the Central Crater at a height of 3300 mt, where we will stop to admire the greatness,the uniqueness and the processes of this extraordinary volcanic environment, combined with the spectacle of the panorama that can be enjoyed from the roof of Sicily (the visibility might change according to weather or volcanic conditions). The descent goes back along the same path, while the last part will be made inside little channels constituted by soft and friable volcanic scoria, on which you can walk easily without any problem adopting the necessary precautions, till a height of 2825 mt where we will get the off road vehicles for the trip back down to Piano Provenzana.
