Make an early start to Horton Plains National Park at 06:00. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you'll take a guided walk along the nature trails to a viewpoint known as World’s End. A variety of wildlife including endemic Rhino-horned and Hump-nosed Lizards, highland bird species including the Sri Lanka White-eye, Dull-blue Flycatcher, Sri Lanka Bush Warbler, Yellow-eared Bulbul may be encountered. Also keep your eye out for troops of Bear Monkey, and Sambar (Sri Lanka’s largest species of deer) which are regularly seen in the plains close to the entrance. You will continue your journey up to Bakers waterfalls.

The Horton plains are the head waters of three major Sri Lankan rivers; the Mahaweli, Kelani and Walawe. The plains' vegetation is grasslands interspersed with montane forests and includes many endemic woody plants. Large herds of Sri Lankan sambar deer feature as typical mammals and the park is also as important for many species of birds not only endemic to Sri Lanka but restricted to Horton plains. The sheer precipice of world's end and Baker's falls are among the tourist attractions of the park.

We will drive to the starting point of the Horton Plan National Park. From the starting point we will start hike through marvelous plateau is covered by Montane evergreen forests, Cloud forests, Grass lands, Marshy Lands and Aquatic eco systems. Horton Plains is one of the most important catchment areas which act as a giant sponge to store rain water. during the journey you can observe of large number of rare and as well as endemic flora and fauna species. The escarpment ‘Maha Lokanthaya ‘ ( Big Worlds End ) and the sparkling Baker’s falls are the amazing wonders which exceed the attractiveness of the plains.
