Slave Trade Tour: Badagry Black Heritage Adventure


The story of over 400 years of slavery cannot be told without a visit to the former slave port. This is a private tour to explore the former slave quarters and see the preserved relics at the Slave Museums. This tour affords you the opportunity to experience first-hand what really happened and how these things happened during the slave trade regime. Many people known today as Black Americans have actually traced their roots to Africa to see and write their own narratives. Your tour will include a boat ride to the Point of No Return (Gberefu Island) where the slaves were routed through to the ships to foreign countries. During the tour, there will be a brief stop at the ‘Attenuation Well’ where slaves were made to drink magical waters that made them forget who they’re. There will also be a stopover at the beach front of the Point of No Return for a little rest and reflection.


Assin Manso Slaves River and Cape Coast Castle Day Tour


Our First stop is Assin Manso Slave Ancestral River where the Slaves had their last bath before moving them to Cape Coast and Elmina castles for final shipment. At Assin Manso, you will be told the history and walk through the Ancestral path to see the slave river where tourists will have opportunity to pray to their Ancestors and ask them for forgiveness. From the slave river, we move to Cape Coast Castle for the main history about the slave trade during colonial rule and see the DOOR OF NO RETURN After the castle, we get to enjoy the hike to Kakum National Park as we go onto Canopy Walk in the park. Get ready for an exciting but physically demanding (15-20 minute) hike in a dense Rain Forest. We will climb a hill so wear sporty shoes, sneakers and face towel for the forest hike. NB: You can skip Kakum National Park/Canopy Walk for Elmina Castle. Or go to Elmina Castle instead of Cape Coast Castle but not both. Feel free to decide! Enjoy your trip!
