Villages, viewpoints and volcanic rocks dot Gran Canaria's jagged spine. This tour weaves its way through some of the island's most dramatic landscapes, stopping along the way to visit gems such as Teror, Tejeda and Fataga. And Teror is where your adventure begins. Strolling past the balconied townhouses of Calle Real de la Plaza towards the mountain-framed basilica of Our Lady of the Pine is one of the defining Gran Canaria experiences. A scenic mountain drive away is Tejeda, which is a bit of a looker itself – red-roofed, whitewashed houses sprinkled on the slope of a valley. There's also a pit stop at Las Tirajanas viewpoint to admire a vast volcanic caldera, as we make our way to Fataga to eat. A lunch made from locally sourced ingredients will be served in a family-owned restaurant. After a little amble through the town, we'll visit a nearby aloe vera plantation to get the lowdown on its medicinal properties.

Together we’ll explore the most beautiful valleys of Gran Canaria, we start our journey along the east coast untill we reach Arucas where we visit the unique “Neo-gothic” church of Saint John. Climbing up through the center of the island with magnificent views of the north and Las Palmas. Once in Teror, the pilgrimage village, we find the typical architecture of the island: Canarian balconies and the basilica. Hidden away, we discover the green core of the island, deep valleys and stunning mountain views including the majestic Roque Nublo and Teide. Once over the peak, we carry on past the almond trees of Ayacata and continue passing by the villages of San Bartolomé Fataga. Enjoy a great morning horseback ride through coconut plantations, mangrove trees and on Playa Larga Beach which is the longest beach of the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo area. As you ride your horse on the beach there will be a nice ocean breeze and the results of: vegetation, ocean waves, lagoon and mountain range will make the horseback ride beautiful and pleasant. The horses are friendly, well trained and very good for experienced riders and also for beginners, you will have the chance to go at your own pace and while riding on the beach you can even make the horse go at a faster pace. You will ride on the horse for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, and will have the opportunity to take pictures with your own camera and the tour guide will also offer to take pictures of you with your camera.
